A World Far Away, Nearby, and Invisible: Territory Narratives in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection
A World Far Away, Nearby and Invisible: Territory Narratives in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection explores territory as both a physical condition and a symbolic construct shaped by memory, history, spirituality, and imagination. Bringing together nearly 150 works by more than 100 artists from across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and beyond, the exhibition examines land as a living organism, a carrier of ancestral knowledge, and a site marked by conflict, resilience, and transformation. Curated by Claudia Segura Campins in dialogue with El Espacio 23 curators Patricia Hanna and Anelys Alvarez, the exhibition unfolds across four thematic sections addressing geological forces, colonial legacies, Indigenous cosmologies, and ecological trauma. The fully illustrated catalog features a curatorial essay by Segura Campins and interviews with artists Chioma Ebinama, Roberto Huarcaya and Rember Yahuarcani, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra, and Nohemí Pérez, offering deeper insight into the artists’ practices and the conceptual framework of the exhibition.

Mirror of the Mind: Figuration in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection
Mirror of the Mind explores the entangled and inseparable relationship between the physical and emotional dimensions of the body. Bringing together works by more than 120 artists, the exhibition uses figuration and portraiture to examine the complexities of the human condition—addressing perception, trauma, healing, introspection, belonging, and their impact on the flesh. Across photography, painting, sculpture, and video, the body emerges as a vessel that experiences, records, and transforms throughout life’s journey. Curated by El Espacio 23, the exhibition considers the duality of the body—its material and immaterial states—as a visual landscape where individual and collective narratives converge, underscoring the continued relevance of figuration in contemporary art. The accompanying fully illustrated catalog, Mirror of the Mind: Figuration in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, features commissioned essays by Odette Casamayor-Cisneros, Tatiana Flores, Mark Scala, and Natalia Zuluaga, offering critical perspectives that expand the exhibition’s conceptual framework.
