Marble

This sculpture represents the artist’s poetics, in which, using abstraction, she deals with themes such as eroticism, the body, and female sexuality. The work evidences a strong influence of Informalism, minimalism, and neo-concretism while bringing to mind Antoni Tàpies, Lucio Fontana’s cuts, and the sensual and tactile contributions of Eva Hesse’s postminimalism. The elements mentioned above can be seen in the openings or folds that suggest stylized details of vulvas or clitorises. The balance of abstract voluptuousness and classical form is also evident in a language of elegance, calm, and dynamic undulations with harmonic proportions.
