Jorge ribalta

Artist, researcher, editor and independent curator, based in Barcelona, Spain. In the last years, has shown his work at the CRP Nord-Pas de Calais (Douchy-les-Mines, France), Linea di Confine (Rubiera, Italy), Württembergischer Kunstverein (Stuttgart, Germany), La Virreina (Barcelona, Spain), Fundación Mapfre (Madrid, Spain) and the last Sao Paulo Biennial. At Museum Reina Sofia, Madrid, he has curated a tetralogy of exhibitions that compose a political history of documentary photography, including A Hard, Merciless Light. The Worker-Photography Movement, 1926-1939 (2011), Not Yet. On the Reinvention of Documentary and the Critique of Modernism (2015), Marc Pataut. First Attempts (2018) and Documentary Genealogies.
