Alina Aguila’s work exposes a withdrawal, manipulation and concern for the minute details of the object and its perception. Her work tends to distort the relationship of individual matter and space, altering the scales both physically and psychologically. The scene that is before the viewer is a place where they can rest their gaze or experience a kind of non-relationship. The works are exhibited as material poetry, weaving together stories, narratives subject to the unreal, absurd and indeterminate. At the same time, Aguila’s work touches on areas of individuality that rediscovers identity. The physical space, laid out in each piece is surpassed by the mental space, furnished with a dialogue of materials and dreaming processes, delirium, hallucination.
